The mayor of East Providence, Rhode Island, Bruce Rogers, revealed this week at a city council meeting that he used to struggle with an addiction to cocaine.
Bruce Rogers said he had a cocaine addiction but has been clean for the past 16 years. Rogers said despite his admission, he will remain the city’s mayor. Rogers acknowledged that his addiction was why he bounced checks back in 1994, and despite an outstanding warrant for his arrest, he did not make restitution at the time. Rogers went to court this week and has paid all of his money owed to the court.
