The Most Excellent Way is a Christian non-profit organization that help addicts embrace their faith while recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. “I was tired of the lifestyle and looking for a better way. I had tried other ways for over 20 years and needed something more. When all else fails, Jesus is the answer,” said Randy Heath. The Most Excellent Way in Lutkin, Texas, helps people through support and love. It is made up of drug addicts and alcoholics, friends, family members and “a dedicated few who are just there because they answered God’s call to love someone,” said recovering addict Tish Bryant. She has been clean for more than a decade and now mentors others. The organization holds meetings throughout the week in the community. It encourages addicts to explore and strengthen their relationship with God. “The Most Excellent Way is a safe place for addicts and alcoholics to come and learn they are not in this battle alone and no matter how many times they go out and come back, we will show God’s love and accept them where they are in their recovery.” The program began 25 years ago in California and is now popular throughout the United States and in Mexico, Russia, Poland, Australia and South America.
