“Behind The Orange Curtain” is a documentary that looks at prescription drug abuse. The film chronicles the stories of 15 families in Orange County, California, and talks to addicts and parents about the problem. The film premiered this week as part of the Newport Beach Film Festival.
In the film, former addicts talk about going to “dirty doctors”, physicians that would write them prescriptions just to make money.
The documentary’s producer and director, Brent Huff, hopes the film will serve as an opportunity for parents to talk to their children about the dangers of prescription drug abuse.
“I didn’t have a clue, most parents don’t, ” said Huff. “Without trying to overstate it, I think [the film] can save lives.”
