A new drug treatment center in Clermont County, Ohio, hopes to help people kick their addiction to heroin. Some of the center’s clients are physicians, lawyers, pharmacists and other professionals.
Opiates, like heroin, are fast becoming the favorite drug for many in the professional world.
“We’re seeing business professionals, business executives, housewives, college students,” said Dr. Jeffrey Stuckert, of Northland Outpatient Rehab and The Ridge Residential Rehab and Treatment Center. “There’s certainly a problem with doctors, pharmacists, nurses. It knows no socioeconomic boundaries.”
Stuckert helped to open The Ridge simply because of the niche need to serve the professionals struggling with drug addiction. Treatment comes with a hefty price tag, but a new life without drug addiction is a very real possibility.
