What does fear vs. trust and patience in Christian addiction recovery look like? Quite often in recovery, we let fear overwhelm us. This kind of dreadful fear can cause us to make bad decisions, which later we regret. How much simpler would it be if we just trusted God to fulfill the outcome in His manner, knowing all the while that He has our best interests in mind, no matter what?
Consider the following passage from scripture:
Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. Psalm 27: 14
Patience, therefore, remains a key component of faith. With faith, we can wait in patience with enduring hope that all things that are not well, will be made well.
How do you handle fear?
Do you wait with patience for God’s outcome to be revealed?
Do you react without thinking things through?
Are you getting better when it comes to fear, or do you find yourself remaining in a place of worry more than you would like?
