Wayne Stewart truly believes that Christ can change lives. As a former crystal methamphetamine addict who spent time in jail, Stewart now shares his story with others. He has written a booklet called “From Meth to the Master” and has spoken at churches in his Georgia community about his journey.
“It is one of the best feelings in the world when you can know you are in God’s will,” Stewart said.
Stewart became addicted to crystal meth and thought his life was good, but slowly learned different.
“I didn’t know it at the time, but I was sick physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I was in need of a Savior.”
Despite accepting Christ, Stewart continued his downward spiral. He had already lost his children and spent a short time in treatment. After a probation violation sent him to prison, everything changed.
“At that point, I finally allowed Jesus Christ to speak to my heart. I was allowing Him to flow through me without any hindrance.”
Slowly, Stewart reclaimed his life as his faith grew. He got clean in a Christian treatment center, got married and worked at rebuilding a relationship with his children. He regained custody of his children. He started a chapter of Celebrate Recovery and became a minister. He felt compelled “to share the truth of Jesus Christ…in love, but also in truth. There is hope in Jesus.”
