James McGreevey, Former Governor, Has a New Job

The former governor of New Jersey has been working at a mental health and drug addiction treatment center. James McGreevey has been working at Integrity House since June of last year as part of his education at General Theological Seminary in New York City. McGreevey leads discussions on prison reform and helps people at the center to refocus their lives on sobriety.

“I assist former inmates in helping them on the road to recovery,” McGreevey said. “For me, spirituality is a changing value structure.”

In 2004, McGreevey shocked the world by resigning as New Jersey’s 52nd governor. With his wife at his side at the press conference, McGreevey announced that he was gay. He divorced his wife and now lives with his partner.
