The founder and director of Pathway to Hope in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is proud of his work. Scott Gardner once struggled with drug addiction. Today, he helps teenage girls with drug addiction and other problems. Most of the girls come to Pathway to Hope on a court order, others by the parents wanting to restore peace within their family.
“It’s a family home, not an institution,” said Gardner. Pathway to Hope has about twelve girls at a time in the residential center.
Gardner believes that his Christian approach makes all the difference to these girls. He has a master’s degree in Christian counseling.
“Love matters. It just does.”
