In Louisville, Kentucky, those who struggle with prescription drug addiction have a safe place filled with Christ’s love in The Healing Place. The program has a recovery rate of 65 percent, which is five times the national average. The program costs patients only twenty five dollars a day for a six to nine month program.
“I just can’t believe that I am sober. When I found Oxycontin ten years ago, I never thought a day would go by without me using it,” said one addict.
The Healing Place is the largest recovery shelter in Kentucky. It serves 540,000 meals each year to the homeless population of Louisville and helps 6500 people get clean and sober each year.
