A man who police have called a person of interest in his wife’s homicide has been arrested in Fort Lauderdale by U.S. Marshals. Robert Kovacs, 44, has not been charged in the fatal shooting of his 49-year-old wife, Bozena Kovacs. Bozena’s body was found by her grown daughter in the bedroom of the rented home they shared in a quiet neighborhood in West Boca Raton.
The U.S. Marshals said Kovacs went on a cocaine and heroin binge, but his drug dealers worked as informants and helped lead to his arrest. Kovacs had been wanted for violating a July no-contract order from a Broward County domestic-assault case.
He is now charged with five other charges, which stemmed when authorities approached him at a Pollo Tropical restaurant. The judge has set Kovacs’ bail at $26,000 on the lesser charges and no bail on the more serious
