Brunswick County, North Carolina has its first Christian drug and alcohol recovery center.
“There is an epidemic in Brunswick County right now,” said Chad Shreve, the director of Brunswick Christian Recovery Center.
Shreve himself struggled with alcohol addiction for twenty years. After more than a dozen admissions to a mental ward, Shreve was at a loss of how to conquer his addiction. That was until 2008, when he discovered the love of Jesus Christ and was freed from his addiction.
“I can tell you this. There was no human power that was going to relieve the condition I was in. It had to be divine intervention.”
The Brunswick Christian Recovery Center is a residential program for men. The center has room for ten residents and is located on a plot of land that once belonged to a church.
