The Empowerment Resurrection Center in Chester, Delaware, a new Christian treatment center, hopes to help anyone struggling with substance abuse, regardless of their ability to pay for their treatment.
“People don’t have to have insurance,” said director Martin Chase. “They are eligible for the same treatment as those who have excellent insurance. It happens every day, ones without insurance get turned away.”
The state-certified, nonprofit rehabilitation center is thankful to the local churches, colleges, businesses and community organizations who have donated money and resources for the treatment center.
“We’re not going to be dependent just on federal funding. We’re dependent on the community,” said Chase. His own church, Seeds of Greatness Bible Church in New Castle, is the biggest contributor to date to the center.
The center will provide recovering addicts with access to certified Christian addiction counselors. These counselors will lead the addicts in Bible study and guide them in strengthening their faith.
