A prescription drug task force established in Orange County, Florida had its first meeting this week. The goal of everyone involved is to fight the epidemic of prescription drug addiction and decide if the county needs new ordinance to compliment new state laws. “I’m not convinced that the problem is solved,” said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs. In December, the Orange County Commission approved a moratorium on new pain clinic and imposed new regulations on existing pain clinics in the county. “This problem is bigger than law enforcement,” said Sheriff Jerry Demings.
