Fighting Drugged Driving
The Sacramento County District Attorney’s office has received grants equaling $1.37 million dollars to fight drugged driving in the community.
“These grants will enable us to prosecute drug-related driving offenses with the same level of expertise and success as alcohol-related DUI cases,” said District Attorney Jan Scully.
The grants come from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A recent study found that 23 percent of all fatally injured drivers tested positive for drugs.
