Councilman Returns To Work While Still In Alcohol and Drug Rehab

A councilman from Arlington, Texas is continuing his treatment for alcohol and drug addiction while fulfilling his role in city government.  Mel LeBlanc recently returned to the Arlington, Texas City Hall after two months in an inpatient treatment program. “It’s good to be back. I feel great. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Arlington and dealing with the issues.” While LeBlanc initially resisted admitting he needed treatment for his addiction, he is grateful for receiving treatment. He recently relapsed after more than 20 years of sobriety. “I fought going into treatment. Within a week or so, I realized it’s where I should be. I have a disease. It came back to bite me again.”
