The Restoration House is a ministry of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Leighton, Tennessee. Since its inception in 2001, more than 350 people have conquered their addiction to drugs and alcohol and enjoyed the knowledge that Christ’s love is enough.
“Every member of our church has been through some kind of addiction – and has been released from bondage,” said Pastor Charles Orr, himself a recovering addict. The nine-month-long program is a special calling for Pastor Orr. He saw a distinct need in the community and started The Restoration House.
“We are ministering to the spirit of people…bondage comes from a lack of knowing what to do in situations. Basically, there is a void they try to fill that only the Spirit of God can fill,” Orr said. “We show (participants) the spiritual side of life, and God fills them with himself instead of bondage. Deliverance takes place.”
