The troubles of Charlie Sheen have been front and center in the news recently. Sheen’s addiction to drugs and alcohol and his subsequent bizarre behavior resulted in the 45-year-old actor losing his job as the lead in CBS’s “Two and A Half Men.”
Sheen’s famous actor father, Martin, has hope and empathy for his son. The senior Sheen believes Charlie is still “emotionally” a child.
“Because when you’re addicted, you don’t grow emotionally. So, when you get clean and sober you’re starting at the moment you started using drugs or alcohol. You’re emotionally crippled.”
Martin Sheen is now 70 years old and still working as an actor. He hopes his son will one day soon find true peace.
“Faith can help all of us. Addiction is the dark side. It’s a reflection of despair. And it’s fed by all the other negativity.”
