Oxycodone Trafficking Operation
The United States Department of Justice announced that three Transportation Safety Administration agents and at least two police officers have been arrested, accused of being involved in a huge oxycodone trafficking ring between Connecticut, New York and Florida. The officers include three TSA offers who worked at airports in Florida and New York, a Westchester County police officer and a Florida State Trooper. The Department of Justice reported that the suspects are accused of receiving money to help traffic tens of thousands of oxycodone pills from Florida to New York and Connecticut. They are also accused of transporting the cash proceeds of the drug sales back to Florida. This is only the latest in a series of arrests reinforcing the federal, state and local governments continued fight against prescription drug addiction and trafficking.
